Couponing Lesson 1: Lingo

So, there is so much to learn about couponing.  The way I learned was by following several coupon-based Facebook groups, following coupon veterans on Instagram, and reading various blogs.

It's not an overnight thing, you learn as you go.  Just like any weightloss diet, lol it's a lifestyle change.  It can also be a hobby as well as a money maker.

I will try to post a new lesson or tip a little at a time.  Today's short lesson is the lingo.

Here is a list of some common couponing terms:
  • Q= Coupon
  • Target Q= Target Coupon (these can come from anywhere either the mail, newspaper, their website, the app, and the mobile text codes-- more on these later)
  • MFR- Manufacturer (Coupons directly from the manufacturer, usually found in newspapers or printed from various coupon sites)
  • OOP= Out of Pocket (the amount you pay up front)
  • ISO= In Search Of (this is used when you are looking for a specific coupon)
  • UFT= Up for Trade (what you are offering in exchange for your ISO)
  • MAO= Make an Offer
  • OBO= Or Best Offer
  • Foils= Coupons, usually high value, directly from the manufacturer that have a holographic security feature on it.  It's just easier to say "foil" versus the above, lol.
  • KC= Coupons from Kimberly Clark corporation-- usually Cottonelle, Huggies, Viva, Kleenex, etc.
I will list more as I remember them...need a  coffee break.
